Throughout our community, there are hungry people turning to churches, community centers and other nonprofits for the most basic of needs -- food.  Meanwhile, our incredibly prolific food industry generates truckloads of surplus food, amounting to millions of pounds annually in this region alone.  At Mid-Ohio FoodBank, we believe that no one should go hungry, and are dedicated to building a community that makes food accessible to all people.

  Mission Statement
Mid-Ohio FoodBank is dedicated to feeding hungry people by collecting and distributing food and grocery products, advocating for hunger-relief programs, and collaborating with others who address basic human needs.

Since 1980, Mid-Ohio FoodBank has provided more than 417 million pounds of food and other grocery products for hungry people in our community.  Mid-Ohio FoodBank keeps the food shelves stocked for a network of more than 530 emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, senior dining centers, day care and after-school enrichment programs. The Mid-Ohio FoodBank is a member of America's Second Harvest.

We are a member of America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest non-governmental, domestic hunger relief organization.  As a member, we follow the guidelines put forth by the network and are monitored periodically to ensure that we uphold the highest standards of charitable food distribution.

The Foodbank distributed 29.1 million pounds of food and other grocery products in 2007.

From our 65,000 sq. ft. facility, we distribute more than 2 million pounds of groceries every month, enough food to provide 43,000 meals every day.  Our partners in the food industry make this possible.  They include retailers, growers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and food service businesses.

In addition, food is made available through federal and state programs.  We also depend heavily on local food drives.
