UPDATE: Mid-Ohio Foodbank Meets Goal to Complete Campaign

We have fulfilled the fundraising requirements necessary to receive $1.75 million in challenge grants from The Kresge Foundation and an anonymous donor. Meeting the challenges also helped us exceed our total campaign goal of $16 million. From us to you, thank you.

Gifts came from corporations, foundations, individuals, families, community groups, and churches. Even some of the Foodbank’s partner agencies contributed to the effort. In total, more than 3,100 donors helped make the campaign a success.

The completion of this campaign is about far more than dollars raised and deadlines met. It is a testament to this community’s generosity. The challenge inspired individuals from a range of backgrounds to unite for a common purpose—to help Mid-Ohio Foodbank have the capacity to provide more food. We would not be where we are without the generosity and unwavering support of our friends and partners.

This is your part

Sixteen million dollars. That’s how much it will cost to purchase, renovate, and equip the new facility at 3960 Brookham Drive. It’s a tremendous goal, but we know that the impact of raising this money—and building this new facility—will make an impact so tremendous we can’t begin to quantify it.

Less than $200,000. That's what stands between us and a facility that enables Mid-Ohio Foodbank to do so much more. To pay for this new facility—the most ambitious effort in our history—we’re counting on the generosity of this community, those of you who share our belief that no child, senior citizen, or adult should ever experience hunger.

Your capital campaign donation will also help us meet an important challenge issued to us from The Kresge Foundation, one of the nation’s most respected grant-making organizations. If we reach our $16 million goal by March 31, 2010, Kresge will award us $1,450,000 to help pay for the building. This is an “all or nothing” challenge, which means that we need the community’s help to ensure we reach our goal.
